On 09/02/18 a Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 24. The Deputy observed the driver and passenger attempting to switch seats as he made the traffic stop. The driver, 20 year old Kierstyn McClendon of Sterling, IL, was arrested for No Driver's License and Obstructing a Peace Officer. The passenger in the vehicle, 18 year old Jordan Colmark of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Obstructing a Peace Officer. During an inventory of the vehicle's contents, Deputies located over 30 grams of suspected cannabis, 40 hits of suspected Hallucinogenics and over $17,000 in cash beleived to be proceeds from illegal drug sales. Both McClendon and Colmark were lodged at the Massac County Detention Center.
