The Massac County Sheriff's Office has been receiving reports of residences being broken into. One of the residences was located on Airport Rd. That residence was owned by a person who lives out of town and recently discovered the residence broken into. Burglars went through the residence searching for items to take. In another Burglary on Orchard Rd., Burglars entered and took a firearm. The third Burglary happened on Powers Church Rd. In that report, Burglars took firearms and a change jar with a large amount of assorted coins. In the Burglaries on Orchard and Powers Church Rd., the houses belonged to elderly individuals who had passed away. In both Burglaries, the Burglars were looking for guns, medication, jewelry and loose change. Investigators believe all three reports are related. The Sheriff's Office also took a report of a Vehicle Burglary on Crestwood Rd. In that Vehicle Burglary, electronics, cash and medication were stolen. All of these Burglaries are taking place in the late night/early morning hours.
