Two Women Arrested after Homeowner Discovers them in a Residence

7/9/2018

In the morning hours of 07/08/18 a Deputy responded to the 2200 block of Crim Rd. to investigate two unknown females inside a residence. The homeowner woke up and discovered two unknown females inside the residence. When confronted, the two females left the residence. The homeowner was able to take a picture of the two females before they left. The homeowner also found items from her home moved from their original location. It is believed the two females were attempting to burglarize the residence. The Deputy was able to identify the two women from the photo the homeowner had taken. The Deputy located 37 year old Stephanie Sims, of Metropolis, when she came to the Massac County Detention Center to visit an inmate. Sims was interviewed and arrested. The Deputy then went to a residence just outside of Brookport and located 33 year old Ashley Jenkins of Brookport. Jenkins was brought to the Massac County Sheriff's Office and interviewed. After the interview, Jenkins was arrested. Both Sims and Jenkins were lodged at the Massac County Detention Center.
