On February 06, 2014 Tim Riddle, Facility Manager of River Metals in Metropolis presented a check for $600.00 to Massac County Sheriff Ted Holder. The money will be used to promote the Spring 2014 P2D2 6th grade science class poster competition. The Massac County Sheriffs Office has been promoting the P2D2 project for almost 4 years and has to date collected over 200 pounds of prescription medication. Last year the Sheriffs Office gave each Massac County 6th grade science class $100.00 for competing in the contest. The Sheriffs Office also joined with the Massac County Soil and Water Conservation District to promote the project. Anyone having old or unused prescription medication can drop it off at the Massac County Sheriffs Office 24 hours a day , 7 days a week and it will be disposed off.
